Gerald Lee Morton, aged 92, went to his heavenly home on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, N.C.
A funeral service for Gerald will be held at noon on Thursday, Jan. 15, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Burial will immediately follow at Onslow Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Gerald was born on Dec. 11, 1933 in Onslow County to parents Peachie Morton and Lee Morton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; George Morton; his twin, Geraldine Morton Parker; Annabelle Morton Meredith; Nan Morton Kellum; and Wesley Morton, and his newborn son, Graham Lee Morton.
Gerald Morton is survived by his children, Brenda Ramsey, Kenneth Morton and Sherry Morton, and Tammy Sokoloski along with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all his nieces and nephews.
Gerald is reunited with his beloved and his family in heaven and will be missed by all that knew him. Gerald’s family knows he is at peace with his Lord and Savior.
