Kathleen R. Cortell, 82, of Holly Ridge, N.C., passed away on Jan. 1, 2026.
She was born Oct. 17, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Edward and Eleanore Cortell. Kathleen was employed by General Electric in Cleveland, where she dedicated 36 years of service before retiring in 2013.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Cortell.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Beverly Cortell of Mentor, Ohio; her niece, Laura Paxson; her nephew, Kevin Cortell; and her best friend of 56 years, Frances M. Hudock.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 17 at All Saints Catholic Church in Hampstead, N.C., with Monsignor Joseph Ntuwa officiating.
Burial will take place in Willoughby, Ohio, at a later date.
